Thumbs up

Hey guys,

I wanna mod my T2 gearbox so it will fit into the FB with no problems. So as you guys who've done this know, I need the shifter housing of the FB gearbox.

I was wondering, is the SA gearbox the same, or will I specifically need a s2/3 gearbox shifter housing?

My rx7's are/were automatics, so I don't have an old one. A s2/3 gearbox is about $300AUD s/hand and a s1 is about $50-$90AUD.

AN SA Gearbox will not fit in an FB without modding (cutting).

Unless your car is turbocharged, just get an FB tranny.

i haven't been inside these cars a lot yet to take measurements, but i've heard the mount points or holes have to be modified on an FB to make a TII tranny fit. is it the same on an SA if that hole is different? Do you have to modify it more? or less?

the SA trannies shifter sit under the dash, as opposed to in front of it in the FBs. i hope that made some sense....

ok so i was thinking it was more liek an old toyota shifter but it isnt really. it doesnt look like it sits that much forward than an FB, but the way the shifter rod is angled/shaped it sits further forward on the tranny than the FB.

ok cool, thats all i needed to know. I'll have to ask around and see if anyone has a s2/3 gearbox that is buggered and I'll beg them for the shifter housing.
