Setzep taught me everything I needed for the swap. It's in the 1st Gen Archive on the Big Forum
I can't find a list by you or Setzep.

EDIT: Found yours here.

Will this also be the same for the 13b-RE TT?

I'm confused about the similarities/differences associated with these two swaps: 13b-RE TT and the TII engine.

My name sure popped up a lot in this thread!

Dysfnctnl85- I believe the 12a and -se crossmembers are the same. You have to drill two new holes in the crossmember in order for the S4 T2 trans to bolt to it. I made a whole thread on how to mod the shifter and mount the trans in the car on the other forum. I think it's in the archives.

Both T2 and 13b-re engines will fit in the car the same, the 13b-re engine is just a little better.

treceb- I believe the 13b is actually 20mm longer than the 12a. Both the 12a and gsl-se engine mounts are the same. They changed the gsl-se crossmember to fit the 13b engine.

Excellent, you're the go-to guy if I have problems!

I'm printing off the parts list, is there a particular place you would recommend that would make this scavenging easier?

13B-RE TT is a cosmo motor. The swap is easy if you want to run a Stock S5 T2 EFI system.Otherwise you have to run a standalone system.

Me and Df know pretty much the same as you now.I'm just too lazy to give the info out this time.I did it every other time someone asks about a swap.Your turn for once.

BTW:Its 10mm longer than a 12a not 20mm

Right I understand the motor differences I just didn't know if engine placement and such was different, but thanks to you guys I understand that now!

Another question, why can't I use the EFI from the engine I buy, why do I need to use the S5 TII EFI?

Racer x- It's been my turn to give out info for as long as I've been on the forums To be honest most of the time I just pass by the "I wanta swap in a T2 engine to my 1st gen" threads because someone always shows them the way anyways. I don't know any more then a lot of the people here it's just that I've done it all instead of read it all

Are you sure it's only a 10mm longer engine? I thought it the 13b rotors were 10mm wider therefor making the engine 20mm longer than the 12a?

Dysfnctnl85- He's just saying if you do a "simple" T2 swap you can run the T2 computer to control a T2 engine. If you get the 13b-re I hear it's a lot more difficult to use the 13b-re computer to run it. To be honest, it doesn't matter what enigne you run you SHOULD run a adjustable computer either way.

Just went out to the garage and took some measurements. A 13b housing is 3/8" wider than a 12a housing. Looks like the 13b is 20mm longer than a 12a

I thought it says on swap pages to drill the 12a crossmember hole 10mm forward of the stockers when doing a SE swap tho? Oh well live and learn. My T2 will own the local FD here next summer either way.
