i have an 85 12a and it starts easy in the cold morning but after i drive it tell it gets warm and shut it off for an hour or two i have to really pump it to get it to start then it runs like a charm thank you

try not pumping it and just hold the throttle a little open

Sounds like its running either lean or rich.If you have to pump it it might be lean.If you can start it without pumping it the its either rich or just right.Do like mike said and let us know.

My 12a used to do the same type of thing, I think its due to the hot-start assist servo being buggered.

I pulled that stupid motor assisted cable off.It did make it any worse so what was the point of it other than wieghing the car down?It met Mr. scrap bin along with alot of 12a stuff. :smirk:

It might be lean or the hot start assist isn't working at all.

try turning the idle mixture screw 3/4 - 1 turn counter-clockwise then try to start.

that should help
