RB cat replacement pipe or header?
#1
my converters are shot; I need something to stop the choking.
I'm considering either the racing beat header/presilencer combo ($300) or the cat replacement pipe ($110).
Racing Beat claims the straight pipe offers about 2/3rds of the increase of the header/presilencer.
Anyone want to weigh their opinions?

actually even with the stock ports you get a significant raise in power from the headers. the stock exhaust manifold ( if you want to call it that ) is very inefficient. if your gonna do the straight pipe just invest a little bit more and get the whole header and piping done.

if you buy a compatible header/presilencer combo, it should connect to your muffler with no problem. However a good after-market muffler will make a noticable improvement in horsepower, as well a nice exhaust note.
The Rotary performance cat replacement pipe will also connect to your muffler.
I bought a cat replacemnt pipe from them for my '90 N/A. Just so you know, it definately improved the sound and made a little more power, but for the price I think it was of questionable quality...Looked like some dude in high school metal-tech class put it together. Just my 2 cents.
