[quote name='Dysfnctnl85' date='Mar 19 2005, 05:46 PM']I spent a good amount of time in the garage today trying to get everything working. The first thing I worked on was the fuel pump. Once I got the ECU on I realized the fuel pump wasn't turning on. GreyGTC helped me out and we determined that 1) I had blown a fuse and 2) the guys at ProStreetPerformance (or whoever wired the fusebox) put the fuses in the wrong locations. The 3amp fuse was in the spot the fuel pump fuse was supposed to be. So that explains why it blew.

After hooking everything up (or so I thought) I tested it and noticed fuel had hit my hood. Turns out I had the lines hooked up wrong (). Well once I fixed that, I noticed a new problem. Fuel was leaking from the injector feeds on the primary rail.

After analyzing the situation, I had a hunch as to what the problem was. I think it's the O-rings. Fuel was still getting to the secondary rail though, which I thought was weird. My dad seems to think it's a pressure issue, but I don't see how pressure has anything to do with it, especially when the engine isn't cranking.

Anyways, here's some pictures so you all can visualize the situation:

Is it possible that the o-rings are too large for the injectors, or that they are too small? I'm really scratching my head on this one.

those arent the o rings, those are the upper grommets

I knew that.

But do you think that's the problem?

The O-rings are brand spankin new. The rail is a KGparts.com rail. It almost *appears* that the grommets are either too small and therefore not allowing the o-rings to make a seal, or are too large and the o-ring can't seal the space left between the grommet and the injector itself.

Does any of that make sense?

I'm not really sure how these are supposed to work. I'll email Keith as well.

You know I want to!

So I used the grommets that were orginally on the injectors from Japanland because they seem to fit more securely. Well, that seemed great until I heard this splash of fuel hitting the ground under the fuel pump. I check the line right by the primary injectors and there was fuel in it, a good bit, but maybe it could have been just from air pressure.

The thing is I replaced ALL of the hoses by the fuel pump with new 1/4" fuel hose. Maybe this is not the correct size?

WTF man, I just want to start my baby.

Alright folks the situation now is, my primary fuel rail is leaking. I really believe the grommets are the wrong size, or something, but here are some pics in hopes that someone will say "hey, you're doing this wrong" or "you need to buy this."

Here's the rail. Keith seemed to think my grommets are the wrong size, but I did have one test run where there was no leaking and emailed him saying everything was okay. Then I did a few more tests. Haha. Needless to say there's still a seal problem with the injectors, they really do not seem to fit firmly in the rail as I would imagine.

I fear going to Advance/AutoZone/any store and having them look at this because I don't really trust them. Let me know what you think.

i dont think you can use those injectors on that rail, i think you need the ford/gm/bosch style ones, they have a bigger o ring

Wow, they are definitely a lot larger. I will email Keith right now.
