problems over boosting

any help appreciated

got a sec. gen turbo II stock motor micro tech engine managment system stock turbo, stock inter cooler, stock blow off valve, stock waste gate

it keeps boosting past 20 psi way to high

any one have any insight on what the problem could be

is the wastegate hooked up? theres a vacuum line, check it

check to make sure the wast gate isnt stuck closed. That'll couse it to overboost

WOW that a lot of boost!! Is it 20 PSI and holding or just spiking that high..?? Are you running a free flowing exhaust and intake..?? If its just spiking you might be able to just port the wastegate and solve the boost spikes.. If it holding that much boost it sounds like that wastegate is not working at all.



edit: are you running a S4 or a S5...??

Yah thats too high...... That is not normal. Check wastegate connections, and don't boost that high unless you want to mess things up. If you have the setup to run 20psi then thats ok, but chances are you are running all stock and that means its not ready for that kind of boost.... Yes there is boost creep but never that high. I'm getting boost creep up to 12psi and thats high too for creeping anyways. You have microtech which is really good. I'm running Megasquirt and i only got it to tune it up to 12 psi and I had to put a boost cut.
