Try something like this. Get flexible tubing in 3 or 4", cut a suitable hole in the radiator support, route the tubing and use cable ties liberally.

Nice car, by the way. White 1st gens rock!

Anybody ever use mariah's headlight and airbox kit? I'd really like to open up the amount of air it's allowed to get. Both ram-air boxes and extending the hose to the front of the radiator, i still constrict the amount of air that can get in via the diameter of the hose. Maybe I should get an airflow meter and see which works best.

both of my rx7 12a engines looked like yours and so does series1rx7's 13B with no tubing to the airbox. All ran fine. ??? If your gonna go all out with getting more air to the airbox, do the cold air induction mod (sorta what S2 13BT has shown but a little more work)

I'll try find the link then add it to my post

I think you'll find that the amount of air that can get in through the stock intake, is more than enough for the amount of power you'll be making. The gains to be had are through colder air.

I run a 2.5" intake pipe about 1.5' long into my turbo (on a 13B) with a 3"x5" K&N filter on the end and that doesn't seem to restrict my setup at all. In fact, i'm sure there is more power to be had without touching the intake.
