I have a 84 GS and ever since i started removing my rats nest, my car wont stay running. when i start it, the oil gauge keeps on moving up, once it hits 60 the car quits and you can tell the car has been dumping alot of oil into the engine...

Anyone know?

I had a similar problem with a Datsun Roadster with a 13B install. Turned out we capped the two breather tubes coming out of the Oil Fill tube (same tube you pour engine oil into) Engine didnt have anywhere to vent the Crankcase vapors and was building up oil psi. In our case the front cover gasket wasnt too good so it with gush oil out thru there. In your case your rotor oil seals or side seals may not be as good and causing it to shoot in to the combustion mix. If you capped these two holes undo them, you would have to clean the top of that rear housing every once in a while but it should take care of your problem. Post your finds.

check the two wires that come out the back of your alternator and go into the main harness which lead to the dash, (I think its two white wires one with a black line and the other black...dont quote me on that) I think one sends a signal for the tach, when my alternator was going out my tach started to go nuts too.....its a shot in the dark but have your alternator checked out, easy removal and most auto parts stores check it for free. One less thing to think about. Not sure why the speedometer goes nuts since its cable driven, but the gas gauge and tach would make sense if you are having surge or drain in amps somewhere.
