Aftermarket oil coolers tend to be raw aluminum, no black paint. I got one for my GSL-SE (cheaper than Mazda part, exactly the same and a perfect fit)

BTW Felix Wankel,

Did you remove the paint and polish that one out?

Cause the oil cooler I saw is black..At this point its an oil cooler..and I can get the lines made...and was plan on getting them made...So it will fit..

Im getting off this water cooled oil cooler under the filter and going air cooled..
The FC ones are all bare, only the older ones are black.

I'd keep the tall radiator and just fab some brackets. I made mine out of flatbar in like 5 minutes.

Felix Wankel:What lines are you running to your cooler?I was going to buy one when I did my swap but I heard that you can't use it with modifying stuff to make it work.I could have bought a FC one for $60

So then the lines threaded in just like the OEM ones?

FC oil coolers use banjo fittings instead of the line itself screwing into the cooler.

I'm using the 84 GSL-SE cooler on mine.My engine came with the lines already so it went on fairly easy.
