Ok just got back from a local junk yard..to look for a full RX7 first gen ..I heard that was there..either someone lied to me ..or theres some fast ****** people...cause I only saw 2 (1978 yellow)

and a (brown 1979)

them bitches was gutted out...

But I did manage to find a Air cooled/oil cooler looks new...no damaged fins..

BUT it was not in the RX7 but it was close to it..

Did the 78/79s come with this set up?

And can someone show me a pic of it?Its $10.s so I need to go back and get it before its gone..

Bought mine at a junk yard for 15 bucks. 1st Gens 79 through 82 had the air/oil coolers. If you are considering swapping this in, make sure to grab the oil filter tower too. Here's a pic of mine:

**** ...Its looks the same ..BUT im not sure about the brackets on the end...

Its looks the same shape..and posobilly size...I know I need the filter mount..BUT the oil cooler lines mount where on the housings?Where the steel line is on the drivers side of the first housing? Is that the line?

i got my new oil cooler off ebay for like 50 dollars or some ****

The early radiators were shorter to compensate for those oil coolers, so you'd either need an old radiator or make some brackets to put it in a different spot.

I put an FC one on my car.

Felix Wankel is correct.... I solved the problem by purchasing an aftermarket 79-82 radiator from www.radiators.com so that my junkyard oil cooler would mount right up to it in the stock configuration. I also purchased new braided SS oil lines from Mazdatrix. The whole stetup fine and it worked out just perfectly.

Yeah I was gonna get another radiator..BUT....on that site they have advertisements of rads cheap..

are these plastic ones?Im looking for aluminum ones..preferable 3 row..

It dont matter about the lines im gonan get them made locally..I just recently got a hook up with this shop who does custom hoses..and after telling them about my project..they said they do alot of car lines..and they will give me the best price around and fast service..they made my SS clutch hose in 3 mins and charged my $20. out the door..

Napa was like $15. and a 3 day wait..and the hose was all rubber..

Next will be my front brake hoses for the GSLSE ft set up I got..

I'd keep the tall radiator and just fab some brackets. I made mine out of flatbar in like 5 minutes.

Let the whoring begin.
