Oil Consumption Increasing
#1
Yesterday was the end of 2500 miles since I got the 12a 6port running soundly. I started with about 21-23 MPG and slowly, over the last week, Thats climbed to 27-29 MPG, and thats with both windows down and the top off doing 70MPH most of the way. I drive it about 200 miles a day atleast five days a week. Lately Ive noticed oil consumption increasing to about 1-1.5 quarts per fill up. Also, I know the oil from the metering pump moves slow but shouldnt the lines be full? Mine dont really lookit....actually its hard to tell if there is any running through them at all.
BTW: since Im in florida I run 20W50.

You should only be putting a quart of oil every 1500 miles or so. 1 to 1 1/2 per tank is quite excessive. My car doesn't even lose that much with a leaky oil pan. As for the gas mileage, I regularly get 27 mpg on the highway @ 70 mph, so I'd say that you're doing good in that respect. Your OMP lines should look full all the time. I can see the oil moving in mine usually, and they seldom drain out except after sitting for a long while.

My question is how the hell your getting 27-29 MPG, none of my FB's have done that LOL. But ya, you can disconnect the oiler lines from your OMP at the Carb. first you have to get the car warmed up then stop it disconnect the lines and measure how much you get after about 6 minutes. The engine should be at around 2000RPM while you do this. Now the VERY IMPORTANT PART! you have to squirt oil down the carb at about the same rate so as not to screw your motor. Hope this helps!

Actually Im a bit puzzled about the Gas milage myself. the only thing I can come up with is it has somthing to do with having 6 ports instead of four combined with the smaller rotors of the 12a....I guess anyway. I never got more than 24 out of my other 12a's.
