wow, that like a trip down memory lane, i remember the first car you bought, the rusty one!

mike
If the rusty one is a 12a then they make a great daily. Those are tough engines.Mine was dead in the rear rotor when I bought it and still daily drove it to 8000 rpm all day long. Then somehow and 13b manged to make a home there. :bigok:

Awesome car!!! Love everything about specially the paint job

I don't know too much about Rx-7's since I still consider myself a newbee. I love first Gen's they are super sweet. But can somebody explain the 13b-re engine to me. I know about the 12a,13b,20b and that junk. Can someone give me a rotor 101 lesson or know of a site?

Racer X- It's a S4 trans, they are much easier to mount in the FB then the S5's. Yeah the more rusty one was a base 85 S, sucker even had steel wheels on it! It ran like **** and looked like ****, (under it) so I unloaded it for the price I got it for (500 bucks).

Joe Flo- the 13B-RE comes from the mazda cosmos, it's the same engine as the 20b but in a 13b version. It's in between a T2 engine and a FD engine.

The RE comes with huge intake ports and taller upper intake manifold and is just a bit different then a REW engine(FD or 3rd gen). The RE is the best bang for buck engine you could drop in a first gen and mounts really easy as opposed to the REW or 20B enignes. Its the little stuff that costs you $$$.
