i kinda like driving on crappy tires, at least to start out. theres a steep enough learning curve being on the track for the first time with other cars, that your setup doesnt really matter too much.

Well finally got the results in for my time attack ... nothing impressive but it was all my fault for bad driving and bad tire setup on the track. Actually i was slowest of the day lol ... but had fun none the less and I should be more prepared for next time. I'll be signing up for the August event.

So a few updates ... Got to install my Racing beat lightweight flywheel and had to rebuild the engine (Thanks to shitty injectors from Venom ... one was abotu 615cc and the other 815cc they're suppose to be 720cc ... so detonated on the one side and blew the seals!) Well a rebuilt later with a tad bit more porting and some more tuning, and Re-speed front sway barm and re installing the rear, i'm now making 160ish whp, and the car handles alot better on the track. I do need to make a fuel surge tank i think though. The tight corners are high speed the engine bogs down from lack of fuel .. almost caused an accident the one time around because of it ... Also kinda started doing some stuff for the supercharger ... we'll see how that goes. should be more fun on the track next year thats for sure https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif

good to hear it's running great again. i want vides of it on the track.

don't have much ... i was hoping on getting the one video off the guy that was filming from inside my car .. but lost touch with him ... Anyways here's a couple:

In that second video in the rain ... that was some scary stuff .. i really had to slow down quite a bit expecially at that corner before the stretchaway ... lots of standing water in there and would keep on sliding ... and that honda thought it could catch up to me ...pshh ... never had a chance lol. I actually came in second in class in the rain somehow behind an s2000 was happy about that https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

so I started the next phase of my car, more suspension and wheel stuff:

T2 brakes all around on my FB

Moser axles in the back

Camber plate

Heavy Duty Retainer Plate

Full brake line kit for the calipers

Triangulated strut bar

some bigger rear end gearing probably 4.3 or something like that.

Custom rims

And some toyo proxies r888

still deciding on rim size. But with that rubber and some camber dialed in, I might have a chance to beat Jim at the track this year.

I was hoping to have the supercharger in this year, but I think all the above stuff is more important first to try to improve my own skills first before i go on adding more power. And i have to still fix that fuel starvation issue on left hand turns.

Everything has been bought except for the last 3 things on that list, but should have the other stuff in a couple of months. Oh and maybe i'll go for another tunning session to see if i can gain a few more ponies here and there

Well looks like most of my stuff should be in tomorrow morning https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif Yay lol ... I've already got rotors, calipers have been fully rebuilt, hubs are on hand and getting cleaned up and tossing new bearings and seals in there, new axles seals also. Should be nice and fresh bearings all around. I'll post pictures sometime this week

sweet! does this make you 5 lug? or 4x114?

i know ive mentioned this before, but the drivers really like the r888's, they make a good rain tire too. they even wear well, we bought 12 tires for the 25 hours of thunderhill, and we've managed to wear 1 out. and put a hole in another...

the drivers also liked the performance friction brake pads, but thats $$$$$$

5x114.3 all around. I got the parts and my tax return in the same day ... it was a good day. Ya I was considering the BFG R1 too as i can get good deals on those and are supposebly faster in the dry, but as soon as i get a damp or rainy day, I'm done for it.

What name brand pad are you guys running? I ran the HP+ all last year and was happy with those geting no fade or anything. I was considering the same this time around, but the pads will cost about 190$CA for all around. If the ones you speak of are about the same price, then i might consider them
