My tabs are coming up so I went down to have my 82 GSL tested. It is completely stock, minus a K&N filter, and runs real good. My exhaust is stock. I was pretty confident I would pass since the car is stock and runs good. What do you guys suggest I replace to pass? I was thinking maybe replacing my cats, but I am not sure if that will solve it. Anyways here are my stats, thanks.

HC (PPM) = 641. Limit = 180

CO (%) = 3.24. Limit = 1.3

well you are not too far above the limits....

hate to ask, but did you make sure the car was nice and hot before you took it in?

In ohio, we can test 3 times before we have to pay upon failing the 3rd time.

I think the bonez hi flow cat is a fairly reasonable deal; still expensive though. Do you have the rule where if you spend at least $200 and the car still fails you get certified anyway?

Yea, up here it is actually 150$. I had warmed the car warmed up real well, but ended up waiting in line for about 15 + minutes. I will give it another shot using one of the over the counter additives and if that doesn't do it I will just bring it in to the shop. Some one suggested running denatured alcohol (not much) through it which burn with little if any emissions. We will see, thanks.

Well I retested today and failed again. Someone suggested that I throw some gas antifreeze/ water reducer in the tank and that would help. My emissions were better but still not even close. I passed my idle emissions fine, but failed the cruise.
