Alright guys,

so I decided to go to work on my 1st gen('84 GSL-SE so its got the 13B) a couple of hours ago, the thing is it stutters going into any gear but first and dies if you drive it for too long. I suspected a problem with the fuel system so I bought a fuel filter, but when I decided to go down and change it I discovered something spooky. The fuel filter wasn't even in the holding reservoir and everything seemed to be hooked up directly to the fuel pump. Why would someone do this and how could I go back to an oem setup? I'll attach a couple of pictures:

Photo one is all the fuel lines coming straight from the tank

Photo two is the empty fuel filter reservoir and the fuel pump

Photo three is what comes after the fuel pump and it seems to go to some smaller thing.

excuse the dirt its been sitting for a while

Check the fuel line in the engine compartment. The guy I bought mine from put the fuel filter in the engine compartment but he also had another one put in the back just to connect the lines together like u have there. It might have been done for ease like the guy did on mine but now I'm stuck with 2 to change lol.
