Mikuni rebuild
#1
my mikuni needs a rebuild but im not sure if i can get the parts and if i can how much for em? I've called a couple of places and all of them say that they dont carry any mikuni parts, but a few of them carry weber and im thinkin about changing over. now that brings up another question. what do i need to replace my mikuni 44 with a weber 48 ida, if anything? ???

hmmmm...never heard of some one replacing a mikuni for a weber... No one wants a Mikuni 44phh, because they flow just enough for a 12a mildport and a 13b stock. Don't ajust them, they are set perfect for their setup. If you were to go to a different fuel such as alckohol, then its different.
I don't know what needs rebuilding on your carb..Enlighten me.
Whats not working right. More then likely, you just need to clean it up good. My Mikuni acted very weird once and I thought the engine was dying someway I wasn't aware of. But it was just sediment in the carb clogging things. Just take it apart carefully and spray carb spray or wd-40 through all the little tubes holes, float area, get everything tip it upside down. Use one of those spray nozzles with the long little tube to get the spray in it under pressure. I garontee if it wasn't running smooth before and everything else on the engine was fine, this will clear it up and will run super smooth.
