Measuring MY radiator, I get 24 inches, Not very large. But now I can give you an example.(Ive done this a few times with my Ford Mud Trucks) To get two fans into 24 in, first, divide by two. This gives us 12. Now add half of four inches(2/3 of 12) which is 2. Now we have 14 inches. This is the maximum size fan(Bracket assembly incl.) I would go with if your trying for the biggest fans you can get. This will put two 14in fans side by side and hanging over the width of the radiator by 2 inches on each side. The Actual peak air flow area would be about 9 or 10 inches from each fan. Not Bad.

To do Quads you would divide your radiator into four squares and start from where the fans would met in the center.

If the radiator was 24x24 (I dont know) then the biggest you would want to go would be Four 10 inch fans. That would give you Over 6in. of max air per fan.

When I do mine Im going to get a lot of pictures.

Make four corner brackets and two t brackets for the center and try to keep the fans as close as you can to the radiator. And fan shrouds Really increase air to the radiator even though they are hard to work around.
