I need some help. I have an 85 GSL that I recently purchased. I am trying to get it on the road. It has 73,000 original miles and original paint. Here is my problem. Car will start up and idle down to around the 750 rpm range then it is almost like some valve cycles and the car will die. I can start it up again and the car will run fine and then like before after a couple of minutes something cyles and it dies. Car will run fine once choked after warmup. What I have done so far is remove ACV and use block off plate. Took off carb and cleaned bowls. But no luck. I have had numerous second gens but never a first gen so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tim

And check your fuel level windows before you crank it and after you let it shut its self down.

When you say "runs fine"....No sputtering, surging, Does it run at high idle first?
