Insurance...

There's more at issue than simply where you get your insurance or who pays for it. As long as you are a minor, your folks are liable for your actions. Therefore, it's in their best interest to control your insurance policy. That way they know if it's paid up and they can choose limits that are appropriate for them (as opposed to the minimal limits you are looking at). Also, if you have your own policy, there can be limitations on your ability to drive their vehicles and their ability to drive your car.

Because I only drive the car around 3k a year. Plus with full coverage it is extremely expensive to insure the rx7. Actually I do not even know if they will insure it. If they do the insurance company will probably only insure for the amount that the car blue books at. I am pretty sure that my car is worth more than just KBB.
Show car isnurance 300-400/year
Comprehensive 500/6 months
i just got agreed value 3k mile limit insurance for my 84 GSL-SE for $250/year

I don't want to drive any of their cars. I hate their cars. I don't really want them to drive my car anyways. My mom wouldn't be able to drive it anyways, since she has a fake hip, and I dont want my brother to take my car out for a joyride. They're going to be putting my car under the minimum insurance they can, to save money, which is less coverage than I'd be paying for, and I'd have it under almost full coverage. They just dont want me to pay for it myself, because they always say that I show no responsibility, and I want to prove to them that I am responsible, by paying for my own car insurance.

Then prove to them you are responsible. Let them get your policy, then you reimburse them the funds. And frankly, car insurance is a minimal responsibility. Obviously they have some other evidence against you, so maybe you should work on that as well. (course it's always possible that you are extremely responsible and they just have problems, but we won't go there).

i'll just give up on trying to get my own insurance policy. my parents obviously don't want to save any money. they think that my grades reflect on how responsible i am, which they don't. if i wasn't responsible, do you think i'd be at my job early all the time, do all my chores and stuff better than their expectations, and practically do anything/everything else they want me to do?
