Does anyone know where I can get an insurance quote, or about how much it would cost to insure a 16 year old with a 1980 RX-7? I've tried looking at geico, but they wont give the quote to someone under 18, and allstate's links for the quotes wont work on my laptop (damn you apple!).

Its gonna be pricey I can tell you that much. Try Direct General if you guys have them in Arizona. They have always been pretty fair with me.

I am kind of having the same issue. However I want show car insurance. It stinks because I am under 25...no one want to insure me.

I hope that you get it all worked out.

Why do you want/need show car insurance for?

Because I only drive the car around 3k a year. Plus with full coverage it is extremely expensive to insure the rx7. Actually I do not even know if they will insure it. If they do the insurance company will probably only insure for the amount that the car blue books at. I am pretty sure that my car is worth more than just KBB.

Show car isnurance 300-400/year

Comprehensive 500/6 months

i gotta get some calculations, and figure out how much i'd be driving. most of it would be to/from school, and to/from work on weekends.

Do not go with Geico. They are a ripoff. My folks were with them for 12 years, and they never got any breaks in their premiums. ******* bullshit. They just got with progressive, been there for 6 months, they just got the premium knocked down by about 15 bucks a month.

I would do alot of research on it, but it will be expensive. The car is old, not very safe, has one airbag(I think??).

Good luck though. And get on your parent's policy.

Well, the only problem is that my parents, and brother are with geico, so my parents are probably going to stick me with them, too. At least i wont have to pay for my insurance if I keep my grades up, my parents will. I'll check with progressive once I find some extra spare time in one of my classes.

I won't doubt that it will be expensive. It has no airbags, which is even worse on safety.

Well, I just checked with progressive, and its almost $1500/6 months. Here's a screenshot of all the stuff I selected (to see where I could make it cheaper, while stilll making it effective).

well, forget progressive. i just checked farmers, and in cali, it'll cost me $533 every 6 months for the highest insurance they have (without a good student discount, because my grades aren't ever that great), which is fine with me. i don't need high quality insurance. i'm gonna check with them once i turn 16, because i should be able to pay for it myself (which my parents will like).
