Lol, Iridium is a pretty expensive metal, though cheaper than Platinum, it's a lot harder to manufacture.

I went to the parts store, and bought 4 BR8EQ plugs. The guy said that they were the only NGK plug the car called for, does this sound correct? $8 a piece, seemed a bit much but I need the to run by Friday.
Now if it would get above 10 degrees I could deflood the engine. |

Sounds like its flooded.You need to burn off the excess gas(A lighter works good).Put the plugs in and pull the pump fuse out.Then crank it over a few times till it sounds like it wants to fire then burn the extra gas off and repeat till the engine starts with the fuse out still.Once the gas in the engine is burnt then put the fuse back in and start the car as normal.Hope this helps you out.

I took all the plugs out to look at them, and I had some time while the battery is charging. The back two plugs where dripping wet, and gunked up. It looks like oil, it is dark and crudy and wont light. I am cleaning them off before I put them back in. How do I get the rest of the oil/gas in the hole to disappear? I understand the oulling the fuse of the pump, do I put the old plugs in and crank it without the pump on. I s there something I can clean the holes out with?

[/quote] You pull the Pump fuse.Listed as your fuel pump fuse.My plugs were dark brown from all the flooding they went thru.I changed them and now it starts great. |
The way I was taught in smog school was to; leave the plugs out, no choke, wide
open throttle (unplug the coils so no spark. we don't want any underhood fires) and crank it for 15-20 seconds. It will sound funny with no plugs. if you have a friend, have them crank while you watch the plug holes for liquid spray. liquid meaning fuel. |
