I consider myself a considerable problem solver, and I think I can fix it my self I just need some direction.

I have an '84 RX7, manual, 1.1L that wont start. It will turn over. I sprayed ether in the carb and still no fire. I put DeIcer in the fuel tank, thinking that the lines were frozen. Could the starter be bad? Is it in the plugs and ignition? How do I test for these things? Or is in the fuel? New fuel pump?

Please help. I need my car running by friday. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

are you getting spark? does the fuel pump run? it needs air, fuel, and spark to run, so start eliminating stuff

Thanks for the quick response.

I have spark coming from the wires, the fuel pump is kicking on (I think I can hear it), but I took out a spark plug it doesnt look like a normal plug. Are there any differences? I took some pictures how do i post them?

I think it could be flooded, the plugs smell real strong and have a bit of moisture on them.

Here is a link that might work, so you can tell me (anyone) if they seem ok. The gap looks different than the rest of plugs I have seen.

Sounds like its flooded. You need to burn off the excess gas(A lighter works good).Put the plugs in and pull the pump fuse out. Then crank it over a few times till it sounds like it wants to fire then burn the extra gas off and repeat till the engine starts with the fuse out still.Once the gas in the engine is burnt then put the fuse back in and start the car as normal.Hope this helps you out.
