Thumbs down

Alot of US guys dont know what a series 3 in first gens..(Like me)

What year is it?

Also your AUD dont hold up too good in the US .so it ould be better for youto buy stuff in AU..theres alot of AU guys here who will help you out...

I read how you guys have strict laws in customizing a car over there in AU....I would recommend doing your exhast with a header..and taking off all the emissions.onn the engien and on top..but NOT sure of yoru local laws..

Plus you guys have all the good FB **** there...

70% of series 3's were GSL-SE's.A 12AT would be sweet tho. :smirk: As for mods.If you don't have emissions tests pull a couple of cats out and leave the main in.Then pull the Smog and AC pumps and junk off with it.Then run a 2.5" exhaust if you have a NA one.Turbo I say 3" all the way from the cat back.If you don't want power steering then you can pull it too(Some came with it some didn't).Then build a cold air intake out of PVC pipe or exhaust piping either work.If yours is NA then you might want to buy a header too. Those make a world of difference on Rotaries.Mine was like night and day.Other than that for cheap you could upgade your plugs and wires.Thats about as far as I can think of right now.I might be able to figure out more later.

Hey Fuzzn7, fellow aussie here. mate in my series one I fitted a 13b/carb set up with a five speed. Like the guys said ,a good exhaust from someone who knows how to make rotary exhausts is a great start. Certainly here in sunny Queensland, you'll need a mod plate for a 13b conversion or a turbo. They will only allow a 12a turbo[sorry mike we didn't get turbos in gen ones - only Japanese domestic models in a series three got a turbo, we didn't even get a 13B option until gen two's!!] as long as it's a factory import turbo engine and I've heard a few trips to the engineers for those reports.Even a swap from a auto to a 5 speed needs a mod plate. Just check with your local 'powers that be' before considering a engine swap.It will save you uneccessary heartache.

Obviously, ingition systems upgrades are easy and are fairly cheap too.
