Lightening stock flywheels will only cause vibration. You would be trading quickness for high and maybe even normal speeds. Try to keep a sharp eye out for a used one before you get it back together, You might find one in time to put it in. Im not sure if they keep the after market parts but you might try :

make sure before you try to pop it off with the hammer you put the nut back on a couple threads, you dont want the flywheel falling on you

This is important, so I'm quoting it to reiterate.

You don't need a special puller, if you can get the nut loose (52mm or 2 1/8" socket and a BIG impact wrench), all you do is tap around the edge of the flywheel with a hammer >not hard< but just so the flywheel rings like a bell, it'll pretty much pop right off.

That was NOT the case when I pulled my flywheel. It was REALLY stuck on there. I had a 1'' thick steel puller, bent the sh*t out of it. I tried hitting it off with a hammer, no f*cking way was that going to work, I tried for hours. Then I had a good puller made, 2-1/2'' thick steel, that finally got it off, but even with that it took a while, lots of cranking down on the puller, then hitting with a hammer, crank on the puller some more, hit with a hammer again.....but it eventually came off.

Yeah it won't work quite all the time but it is certainly the easiest way if it does.

Hopefully I wont need a puller. I'll try the impact gun first thanks for the insight.
