Cold Air Mod For Gsl.se
Cold air mod for Gsl-se
Get an AFM adapter from HKS or ebay for the 86-91 N/A Rx7
Make a gasket from material from Home depot
Install the AFM Adapter and Add a Home Depot PVC pipe (or mandrel bent steel pipe 90degree turn section)
remove the cover that goes from the radiator support to the body on the car. Under this cover you have access to the front of the radiator and/or AC condensor.
Carefully cut with a cutoff wheel or sawzall room in the right radiator support (Elongage the hole for the intake so your pipe fits)
Squeeze the filter and pipe into the area in front of the radiator. If you do this right the filter sits in front of the radiator, with the remaining section of pipe inside the engine bay pointing at the AFM. Add sections of pipe and silicone connectors until you have air tight connection to the MAS.
Reinstall the cover plate over the entire section. I will post pics later this week (Digital cam in shop) I did this and I think it works well (the butt dyno says its effective) Hopefully it is getting the denser air from infront (factory location) but with higher flow available with a nice K&n cone filter. My other mod was to connect the air pump to the aux port activators. That works great also since they now open at 3500 rpms no matter what the load.
I like the cold air mod to work ..

Yeah i read mazspeed's article on the insulated cold-air intake too. Today I went out to find some nice ducting material. I'm not going to insulate it because it looked like *** IMO. Post pictures of yours asap!
I couldn't believe they used a drill to cut the hole in the radiator shroud. Goddamn that looked ghetto. I'm gonna take a bunch of pix when i do it too
its really late and shouldn't be posting, i must be talking a lot of jibbah-jabba.

Look in ducting at Home Depot. You can do an all aluminum duct one inside the other. They have alot of sizes. Im trying to think of something to cool the air more as it goes through the duct though. Like the way a radiator works.
