I tried the msd's and didn't like them I am now useing gm hei ignitors and they work great. The car revs up quicker and no sputter at idle and best of all no backfire when deaccelerating.

stock gm hei ignighters are $20 a piece. I'm useing three from a 1980 chevy truck and three accel superstock coils. The coils were like $30 buck a piece. I also removed the vacume advance and locked out the mechanical advance.

Do your gm igniters go in the same place and hook up the same way as the stock igniters on the outside of the distributor??

No, they have to be bolted to a piece of aluminum.

Put in some pics and instructions on how you hooked them up if you can. I think I have a few 80's Caprices around here. I might try it for fun....sounds fairly quick and easy.
