ATF OR INDUCTION SERVICE?
Well im gonan run my car again on Friday at the track..and I want the best performance I can get..
Since im changing my plugs..I want to do 2 things..
ATF Trick...or
Induction service...
For you all that dont know what induction service is..
I used to work at 2 dealerships..I always collected* **** loads fo cans that contained the chemicals to flush out your induction system...
This is how it works..since I dont have the proper can I will just open the regular can and use an intake vacume...
Find a vacume that goes in for intake..Like the one on my RacingBeat/Holley intake..for the brake booster..I would have to sit there with a vacume line into the can..and let a little liquid go in a little at a time.ot to much will make your stall..
What it does..on a rotary engine..Burns off carbon and gas gum off intake and inside the housings..and flush it out of the exhast..this will foule out your plugs..
On a piston engine..it burns carbon off valves..pistons..and intake and clean injectors...
This service at anyshop or delership is usally $100. or more..
Do U think this will be good. or should I do the AFT thing...also Do I need to change the oil after the ATF thing?since I just changed my oil like 3 weeksago?>
I have not done the ATF trick since I owned the car..I got 104k on a 84 original engine..but its still strong as hell

I did the induction cleaning a while back on my GSL-SE and it helped quite a bit. There was some serious smoking during this process which surprised even the mechanic. I am really not convinced about the atf "trick". I have done it, it does give it temporary compression to start the motor but that's about it in my opinion. My only concern with using any of the decarboning agents is the effect on the oil control o-rings. I use to see a drop in oil level before I did these things but now the level stays on the full mark even after 2K miles which means I am getting excessive fuel dilution in oil. I can't say that it is definately related to these processes but it sure seems like it cause it only started to occur after I dicked around with the engine with atf and the like.
The induction service probally made you run 100 times better...
If they did the service right..they should of cleaned your throttle body..with spray..and a tooth brush..(is what I use) to brake down the build up...then start the car let it run..to flush that out..then hook up the other chemical..
It will make the car smoke bad..let the chemical run till done (about 15-20 mins) then after that..go drive the car kinda hard to flush out the rest..
Then change your plugs..
This also will clean out your injectors..Its a good maintence service to yoru vehicle and will same you from not having to buy injectors..
Your suppose to do this every 30k..
And I use fuel system cleaners about every 2-3 weeks..which I still get free..
I need someone to respond to this ATF trick..Yeah 2 people post about it..BUT no one will reply here..

BTW the fukin rotarys put out some much carbon..your engine can get carbon locked...So this service should be good for it..
Also...I go through about 2-3 plug *Sets a year..does anyone else?
But Im also running rich.

I'm a strong believer in ATF. The induction trick your talking about sounds like what some people used to do but w/ water instead, just take a cup of water and let the vacum line suck it up and burn through, it works well too..but produces a MASSIVE white cloud of smoke...I've done both the ATF and the water trick when trying to get my GTX to start...and only the ATF got it to turn over..although the motor is now dead(no compression in the rear rotor)...I still think ATF did the trick. The downside to ATF is that it does foul your plugs up, and clog your cat if you've got one...
I prefer to use Marvel Mystery Oil instead of the ATF, it is meant to be burned, and its a product older them all of us. Its MEANT to be put in there, so I always feel safer with it. We put it in the boats every winter, and on piston engines its reccomended if you are putting the engine/car into long term storage. A good rotory mechanic turned me on to it.
