sounds like accelerator pump like the others have suggested, either not working or needs adjustment.

OK, before I took off for cricket today, I pulled the lid off the top of the air cleaner, and played with the accelerator. It seems to dribble fuel at the slightest movement of the throttle, so it doesn't appear to be slack in the AP linkage.



Maybe it's done up too tight, so it doesn't give a full shot when I jump on it.



Will investigate further tomorrow.

Yes, check that your getting maximum AP shot. As far as the choke not staying out. Thats an electrical setup. Behind the choke **** is an electromagnet. When it recieves power it keeps the **** out. It gets power through a temp switch thats on the back of the waterpump housing. To check the magnet, unplug the the connector on the temp switch and jump the 2 harness wires together. The choke **** should now stay out when you pull it as long as the ign switch is in the on position. If that works, then the switch is bad.
