i have a 1985 gsl se and i want to make it have 500bwhp how would i do that would i hafta to switch engines if so what would i switch it with ?
|
you can get 500 out of what ever engine you have. Streetport turbo would be nice. I'll get you the website where I am ordering mine from.
|
That sounds like a task..
|
500hp is costly as a mofo.Anything past the 300hp(more than enough for a FB)mark is getting in to double digits..I want 400rwhp but I know that I'm prolly looking at around 6k-10k for that much even.Best of luck getting that.

Is that 500bhp or 500 whp? those are two completely different levels of output.
Here's a couple of trick questions: 1) what's better 500hp@4000 or 600hp@8000rpm? 2) what is the torque ftlbs for each? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...closedeyes.gif Raul |
1. 600hp
2. 656.5 lb'tq & 393.9lb'tq |
my new goal is 500rwhp on pump gas... it can be done https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

500hp@4000 rpm will pull harder that 600@8000 rpm

600hp is "better" than 500hp even if it is at 8k. And when I say better I mean better for a race car, obviously not for a street car. |
Thats really what the question should be though isn't it...
Is it a drag car or a street car? cos over ~300HP on a street car is just stupid IMO. Its unnecessary and dangerous. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/cool.png |
Viper, F50, Z06 Corvette, Murcielago, Esprit, Carrera4, Lightning, and a few others.
All 350+HP. All street vehicles. None stupid. But what can I do with a tired 12A?? THAT'S the Question... I need to do a couple of dyno pulls before I start the mayhem. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/evildeal.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/devil.gif |

i want to get that wide body kit also and paint it black then get 16 or 17 by 10 white rims for it i want the engine to have at least 350 rwhp though and still be streetable
|
Thats similar to what I'll run.Still debating on the CP widebody or just get the mazdatrix/erebuni kit.My project car already has SE brakes on it.If I don't go widebody I know where I can get some nice 17's at a good cost.
|
nice i havent seen the erebuni kit is it nice ?

BTW I was referring to over ~300HP in an FB. Don't get me wrong, I love lots of HP, I just think that in a FB, anything in the 500HP range for street is crazy. Track, drags, different story. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Check Page 4 of the FB picture thread.I posted Viperx7's pics in it.He has the Mazdatrix/Erebuni kit on his car.Looks killer.Thats why it makes for such a tough call. The CP kit is nice on the black car they just added to the picture page.Yet Viper's looks good too.The erebuni site needs a good pic of thier kit on it.Thier pics do that kit no justice. The ones posted of vipers car does the kit good tho.

Just look at the list you just made. Why would you even list a truck? As for the others. How many of them do you see on the road? most of them weigh more then my house. I had a rx7 that broke the 300hp mark. Flipped it 2 and a half times. I can honestly say if it is just for the street then it is way too much power. If it is for the track then by all means go for it! |

My mistake. Yea, 500hp in an FB would be nuts trying to control on the streets... how much does a FB weigh anyways?
|
my 85 gsl weighs 1700lbs at least thats what it said on the sticker just inside the drivers door that gives the stats on the car

As far as seeing them on a daily basis, I "see" two Lightnings an '02 and an '03 on a daily basis. I see at least one Z06 a month. The Lambo, Ferrari, Lotus, Dodge, and Porsche I see on a regular basis (three to four months) are owned by customers of mine. I will restate my opinion on what really matters to me. But what can I do with a tired 12A?? THAT'S the Question... I need to do a couple of dyno pulls before I start the mayhem. |

You could give it a rebuild then give it a blow-thru setup. That would move nicely. Luis |
Yeah, and my wife keeps telling me to blow her too. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif
