Some really basic, quick questions...my shop manual will be here monday.

1) Where is the stock fuel pressure regulator located (85' rx7 gs, 12a carb)?

2) Can I remove this and put an aftermarket one close to the carb? And what should the pressure be for the aftermarket regulator? 4-6 lbs or what?

Different subject;

3) Where's the location of the coolant seals that I've been hearing about?

4) Does my model have an accelerator pump? located where?

5) Is there a filter or anything in the gas tank? Does fuel flow in this order; gas tank, filter, pump, regulator, then to carb correct? Well what is that little unit mounted way up on the body w/all the fuel lines above the axle? a return line thingy?lol

I feel stupid

Please answer as many as possible I only have about 4 days to get the bigger part of this done.

Thanks guys

1) aint got none, or if it does its in the pump

2) sure, about 2psi is what the stock carb likes

3) which ones? the water seals in the engine? or the 2 o rings on the intake gasket?

4) yep, its on the side of the carb, i think front left, but its been a while

5) on an 84-85 theres a little filter in the tank, fuel pump, fuel filter then to carb. little thing way up there is a roll over valve, shuts off fuel if you roll the thing

I was wondering if the fuel pressure regulator was that little thing mounted against the frame(and well guarded), because after the fuel filter(which hangs behind the fuelpump w/some wire clamps)it goes to the fuel pump and then it goes into that thingy mounted on the frame and then to the metal lines going to the carb?

2psi. ok

It would have to be the ones on the intake gasket then..until I get my shop manual it's just hard to visualize this crap. thanks

Rollover? hmm, I'll pass!

theres no regulator in the stock setup, theres a check valve and a roll over valve or something

Oh I see...

I've been having trouble getting fuel...so w/all other things eliminated(fuel filter, drained tank and replaced fuel pump) I dropped the tank today and found that there is a screen inside and it was completely plugged(cleaned it and reassembled) and tank will go back in tomorrow. So fuel flow will be good.

But now I'm wondering since you say there is no fuel regulator, then will the fuel pump that I just installed(4lb fuel pressure)be too much...I've heard that the carb likes like 2lbs and that anything above may cause symtoms like flooding, ect. Is this true? Dang I knew I should've got the 2.4 lb pump(but it was $30 more). So should I put a fuel regulator in now that I have a 4 lb pump? Or will the 4lb pump be ok?

Keep in mind I want to do this right where the car will be reliable.

And p.s. thanks for your help so far bro.
