The turtle wax is a great idea!!! I did a little research last night and the pros use like 10 layers of pure Carnuba wax. I know that is spelled wrong but oh well..
Then they spray there "gelcoat" on the mold before they lay the fiberglass... So now I need to get my hands on some gelcoat...
I'm going to check out my local body supply store out and see what they have..

i made a scoop on my eyelid cover for my FC before.
when i made my mold out of bondo, i just sprayed Pam over it and then layed the fiberglass over it. then brushed on the resin.
i also did the same for my FD before. but used Turtle wax instead. both times my fiberglass mold just popped right off. but what is this "gelcoat"?
about the "mold". would i have to make my mold over the hood, fenders, and bumper with spray foam, fiberglass, or whatever you choose...then line the inside of that mold with wax and make one piece from the inside of the previous mold....???
cause the first mold would be a little bit bigger right???

OK... lets just say you want to make a fiberglass hood..
First you would wax the hood, Then brush Or spray it with gelcoat. after that you can brush on the resin lay your first layer of glass brush on some more resin. You can use a little paint roller to spread/flatten the glass. Let it cure, pop the mold..
Then you can take the mold you just made, And wax it, gelcoat it , lay the resin and glass.....Pop the mold and you should have a fiberglass copy of you hood...
you can make fiberglass U beams to glass to the back of it to add support..
Gelcoat is something they spray or brush on before laying the fiberglass to give the piece a smooth finish.( That way there is no sanding )
I'm going to try to get more info.
