I didn't work for close to 9 months. So I had enough vacation for 20 years!

Most people think it was on purpose, but it wasn't. I was going for my PhD, and after my 2nd year I was applying for some jobs and had some interviews; but I wasn't thinking: I said it was ok to contact my department, for whom I also taught--they don't like people to leave voluntarily. After that things went downhill. So I decided to leave. It took me 8 months to find something. It wouldn't have been so bad, but everybody REFUSED to tell me why they passed me up.

It wasn't my plan to come out here, but I'm glad things worked out the way they did. I have no big complaints about living here. If I had stayed in NY I'd probably still be messing with my car and making 100 posts a day.

Yeah, I like to get pissed sometimes--I kind of have a bad temper at times--but I don't get bitter. I figure that by January I'll be fully settled in. I FINALLY got a paycheck today. They jipped me out of $250, but it's ok for now.

I'll get it back. They just made a mistake, but I'm used to that stuff. The people who do payroll, etc. usually can't add 2 numbers together, or at least it seems that way.
