Really large rims on trucks look like wagon wheels. I don't think that's a cool look. I mean, we got away from it in the 1930s, right? Seeing all these SUVs with their 22" rims and bling bling all over the place just look like
To answer your first question, I've seen 17" on my friend's '77 and they look great. Second question = good luck finding anything.

the closest you could find for dropped spindles would probably be off a sundowner mazda or the 86-93 B series.. and they would probably have to be modified..
the front suspension on this truck would be super easy to replace with airsuspension, but big rims would not tuck unless you did some nice cutting into the truck's fenderwells/airvent ducts.. That said you could stick 20's on it if you didnt drop it.. or dropped it very little.. the offset would have to be right for them not to stick out like crazy.. and you would probably have turning radius problems..
