My point is even if its not your event at least support it.

A few members on different boards want to do a BIG gathering of 7's someplace on the Eastern seabord. I suggested somewhere in North Carolina along the Blue Ridge Parkway. (I want an excuse to drive my TII on that road so bad)

We also want to do a RX-7 BBQ in the Orlando area in the spring. Why not jump aboard and show some solidarity with the RX-7 community. We shouldn't have to get your permission to put something together.

Why not get behind these things?? Not distance yorself from it then and send someone to tell us we could have done better.

Thumbs up

Let me back up my forthcoming statement like this: Personally, I have been to events that have been WAY outside of my local area. Free or not.

That being said, I think the problem in this area has to do with apathy. Unless your event has something for free (or low cost), people aren't going to go unless it benefits them. They could care less.

Now, if you are willing to put something together, let MRCCFL know. I know that the board of directors will help promote it in the newsletter and on the website. They'll even create a web page for the event, along with a printable flyer.

There are tentative plans to have an event in Jacksonville (when? I have no idea, but it is in the works). But this will involve Mazda North American Operations (MNAO), and their facility in Jacksonville. It would be much like Sevenstock that occurred at Mazda's other facility in Irvine, California. The president of the MRCCFL now has contacts within MNAO.

Another event being planned is for February, and the Rolex 24 Daytona Beach. Last year was amazing. We had a suite over pit row, with pit passes!

Jim, if you put on another event on the treasure coast, I'll push the board of directors to support it and promote it as a MRCCFL co-sponsored event. Deal?

I already E-mailed I think it was Ian about getting in the the Rolex and he didn't aswer back yet. I'll go the the website and find out whats up.

FYI - I think what you guys have done is awesome. I am not trying to put down your club. I wish I could participate more but I am very busy Autocrossing as much as possible and I am trying to apply for my SCCA Novice lisence weekend tend to be booked.

If I told my wife I was heading out for 1 more RX-7 thing she would loose it. She has been really cool up to this point I dont want to push the envelope.

As far as another Treasure coast BBQ i would rather see one in Orlando.

As far as the Jacksonville think AWESOME!! I am behind you 100% I will spread the word.

Post up when you know more I will also monitor the chat board more frequently.

I am really excited about the Jacksonville event. I will offer my services to Ian and Jerry like I did last year for the 1st Daytona paddock.

I need to check this place out more often.

Looks like you two have come to an understanding.

AS far as MRCCFL, we have entered what will be a slow period of the year. Nothing BIG until Rolex in February. It's always hard to plan things around the holidays. I'd like to try and get in another charity event the beginning of December, that would be good. Last year we received lots of support from all over the state - all auto enthusiasts, rotary or not.

I'd LOVE for there to be more involvement on the local level. It's hard to plan huge statewide vents every other month, but much easier for local county, or region wide groups to go out and have some fun.

I think I'm done rambling now.

Edit - Rolex plans are still in the works. We'll announce it to the list, website, newsletter, different forums, etc. when plans are made and we want to open it up to everybody. Last year it didn't really start happening until January and it still filled up super fast.

You don't like the way the Florida club is? Go start your own.
newsman...

You sound like you were not accepted by others when you were young....

If Yuca started a club I would be down for it ....its for fun right?

Why get political? What does your "club"have to offer that 5 good friends cant offer?

Yes my 7 is old.. and not a FD ...I use mine... I dont garge keep it...I acually enjoy it..I dont have it, just to say 'I have a 7'..Like most clubs are..

I see how you guys are talking about help promoting for the rotary community...

I have been going to Lakeland drag strip for the last 3 yrs?I cant recall seeing your "club "there on Rotary events...i guess its to ghetto for you guys and we are on the other side of the fence...

(Drag racers VS AutoX,SCCA)

I wouldnt mind letting you guys know about a big event coming up...lets see who you guys "send"

I thought it was funny how someone got sent to Jims Bar B Q...by reading the post...MRCCFL didnt help him throw it...MRCCFL didnt help him promote it..(did they?)

BUT how are you going to send someone there and tell the host whats hes doing right or wrong...lol

Dont you guys have lives? or is the wifeys bitching to much and then you carry this out on others...lol

Feel free to respond...and Is this post not approved?
