Alright guys, just about to finalize my rim/tire combo. Do u think 245/40/18's all the way around would be a nice setup. Does anyone see any problems with this? A 38 mm offset. Thanks

Nope. no problems at all! The smae width on all four will maintain the balance of the car as well.

Now that I think about it again, you may have rubbing in the front, depending on which tire you use. You'll be close with a +38 in the front..

Should I go 225/40/18 or 235/40/18 in the front. I can't remember if i said they were 18x9's. But the back should be fine with 245/40/18? Or will there be rubbing with the stock setup.

Depends are what your after and what your car setup is like. Do you want a point and shoot 1/4 mile car or a well balanced good handling car?

I like well balanced and good handling. Running the same width tire front and rear helps eliminate understeer. Wider rear narrower front will encourage understeer and understeer sucks!.

I think your on to something running 4 tires the same. Plus if its a DD you can rotate the tires and get better life.

I am running 255's rear and 225's front and I get some understeer. When I ran all 4 the same the car was better balanced.

Weight transfer and distribution and overall suspension set-up or lack thereof should define an under/oversteer situation. Varying wheel/tire width makes a smaller contact patch on the front but unless someone ran a tire width smaller than stock, how would a small tire variation produce and understeer situation? Do you feel the engineered "track" in the chassis is that sensitive to adjustment?

Wow, getting a little complicated now. I just want to be able to run 245/40/18 with a 38 mm offset (18x9) all around. But I'm hearing there might be some rubbing issues. If that is the case I will go smaller in front. I guess my main question is which of the above setups would work with no rubbing issues or any kind of major issues with this setup. Also its on a FD with stock setup. Anyone running similar dimensions? I appreciate all the replys.
