Decided to do a bit of research today on tires. Toyo had a nice setup at Sevenstock and I learned quite a bit about thier Proxes line, and I was quite impressed, but I've also been leaning toward a set of Potenzas for my 7 as well.

Does anyone here have a preference for either Tire, as far as Proxes go I'm looking at the RA-1 and the T1S (I haven't priced any of these tires FYI) and for the Potenzas I'm looking at the RE- 750, 730, and 930i. I do agressive street and track driving, so any input would be much appreciated.

I have used Toyo T1-S, S-02 and S-03's on my Impreza.

I prefered the T1-S, as they suited my style of driving. They gave me the most feedback about what they were doing at on the limit.

The S-02's gave the most grip in both the dry and WET!

The S-03's never really let go, they just drifted in to sliding but all under control.

for potenzas..

i recommend the s02 and 3s..ive had both..

ive had the older toyo proxes t1s..

they were good but they were a heavier tire..

and the hard compound made for longevity but sacrificed traction for it..

Ok cool, thanks guys! I found two really cool dealers for each tire, I think I can use it to my advantage to get me some jolly good prices. Thanks again for the feedback.

I don't know about the "old" T1s, but the current ones are SIGNIFICANTLY lighter than S03's... on the order of 5 lbs per tire in some sizes.
