In the effort to improve my 60 mph to 0 mph time, I decided to start the thread.

~What would you guys recommend to do to get brake distances down?

~Brake Pads...are they all equal? Differences?

~Steel braided brake lines. Good, bad or Indifferent?

~Brake balancing...any opinions/facts/observations are welcome.

I've heard that stainless braid brake lines are a good idea if you race on a road course because the combination of heat and pressure will make the stock lines BALLOON, and you will lose braking response.

I would recommend firstly, rebuilding your calipers if any pistons seem almost impossible to move.

Then I would recommend going with some brembo OE style rotors. I used a laser pyrometer on the fronts, which were brembo, and the rears, which were factory, and the fronts were actually cooler than the rears after a very hard run on them!

For pads, I've had a good experience so far with the Hawk HPS compound.

This setup is probably the best for using the factory brakes without going to a full expensive big brake setup.

SS Braided lines are in general, a good upgrade from what I've heard

What were you planning on doing with your car?

Well, mainly street use...

...but Dragon can attest to our "street use" as being close to Drag racing/circuit combination. I have to be able to accelerate aggressively, yet be able to brake and brake and brake after each run, in turns, etc....

What are the differences in Hawk HP's and Hawk HP+?

Jesus, I forgot you were in Japan!

I'm not up on what they have for brakes over there, but ive heard anything by endless is good.

The difference between HPs' and HP-S, is the HP-S is a less aggressive compound for the street.

I'm not sure if I would want to drive on anything more aggressive on the street as these provide a pretty good cold response and it only gets better even when they are blazing hot.

I've got endless brake pads front and rear right now. They cost ~$80 for a pair. They brake REALLY well, but they dust like a SOB!...

Since I have white rims, I'm looking to get brake pads that don't dust, yet will be able to take the abuse of circuit.

Good luck. Maybe the EBC pads might do it, but thats just from what they advertise, I have no experience with them.

I know my hawks will turn my 89-91 TII rims to gunmetal after a week.

Hawk Hp+ are awesome. dusty, but then you'll just have to wash it more frequently. also the Bonez pads
