Ap Racing 4 Piston Setup
#28
I believe Tar-Ox makes some 10 piston calipers. HPI may also make some 10-pistons. Mark V. used to have 8-piston Brembos with 4 pads each on the front of his FD with 14" rotors. Bux!
EssexParts.com can install SS pistons in the AP CP5200 calipers. I had them upgrade mine and they work fine on the street and should hold up better (not boil the fluid) on the track. All said, it makes for a rather expensive set of brakes, though. Essex can get you some Ferodo DS2500 street pads and DS3000 track pads, too (for both the AP and Wilwood calipers, see below).
I have Wilwood 4-piston calipers on the back. Here's a write-up on that:

You lose the parking brake with those, but I haven't had to park anywhere steep and it hasn't been a problem for me yet. I just put the car in gear, but it won't hold on a steep hill. Widefoot is working on some new brackets for the Wilwood NDL caliper that will also support a single-spot mechanical caliper for the parking brake. dclin on the forum is investigating 2-piece rotors to use in place of the RZ rotors, and I expect those to be available soon (group buy, probably). The car felt way out of balance with the AP fronts and stock rears, and it feels much better under braking now with the Wilwood rears.
You can install a 929 master cylinder to increase pedal effort (trust me, it still takes much less pressure to slow down than stock) and reduce travel. You'll have to double-flare a few brake lines, but Rob Robinette's site has a good how-to on the install.
My fronts are 2 lbs lighter per side than stock, and the rears are 4-5 lbs lighter per side. Big brakes and less unsprung weight! I am sure the rotational inertia is higher, though, since the rotors are larger in diameter.
For four wheel brakes, look at these options:
- Dale Black's Wilwood fronts w/the Wilwood rear setup I've got
- M2's four wheel setup
- Mazda RZ stuff (great bargain for great brakes!)
- AP fronts / Wilwood rears like mine, but the different brand name on the calipers is a little silly. I think Essex might be able to supply AP calipers for the rear as well, but I didn't want to spring for them after spending so much on the fronts. AP calipers would probably cost at least $600 more (ouch!).

Just drove by a G35 coupe with the Brembo brake option from Nissan. Why not put someting together with appropriate discs, custom bracket and calipers from your local Nissan parts counter? They have to have some kind of parking brake setup. The rears look like twin piston, one on each side of the disc.
