In one caliper? Why?

That SL55 has 24 pistons total and stops like a MF, why more?

How about I get you some 8 piston calipers off of a new Mercedes SL55 AMG?

Those **********ers have 4 brake pads in each caliper :yum:

more pistons doesnt necessarily equate to better stopping power, I just wanted to point that out.

I used to have Wilwood 6-piston jobs, and I have AP 4-Pistons now.

My current APs stop a whole hell of alot better than the 6-pistons. Its more about friction area, etc.

Its mainly physics, Law I and Law II, just remember that you can only stop things in motion with opposing force or bleeding force

YOu can only stop as fast as your tires will allow. sticky race tires will make your eyes buldge out of your head, but street tires are just street tires... Bigger brakes only allow you to make repeated stops like this with out fade and give some better modulation. If you go too big you end up carrying around a lot of unneeded un-sprung and weight and extra rotational mass (somthing that someone who drag races does not want...).
