my question is there a difference in the ignition and coils from a stock 13b engine to a 13b turbo, back story is that i just bought a 91 rx7 with a recently change motor to a jdm 13 b turbo s5 engine and the only thing he did not change was the ignition coil , my problem with the car is that it has no low end at all and is running very rich so before i buy a msd i want to maybe get a little feed back thanks .

 

The coils are the same. Regardless, your problem likely isnt coils. Ill need more info on the car and the problem to give suggestions though.

 

well it is a jdm turbo engine, wiring,ecu swap it has a obx cat back after market front mount intercooler, blow off valve . what type of info would you need ? thanks for the reply ! i greatly appreciate it .

 

My first thought is put a timing light on it and see if the timing is correct. Beyond that, youre going to need to get a haynes manual or FSM and start going some trouble shooting. Theres just so many things it could be, so you need to better understand what its doing and start ruling things out.
