V-bands...

My new T04E just got here today and I need a V-Band.Anyone know where to find them with a reasonable price?Are they aluminum???I could find a local shop here to weld it on.I just need the V-band first.Boy is this 1.32 housing huge tho.Lag city here I come.

That's what I used with my HKS T-45S. It's steel(aluminum would melt with our hot exhaust temps).

OK,But isn't the housing aluminum??If its steel where the V-Band sits then I'll weld it at the shop I work for.Or get a millright to do it.

It's like a gasket then????Also Is my turbo housing steel or aluminum??Might have a friend weld the V-band on at work if its steel.

The compressor housing is Aluminum. The exhaust housing is cast Iron.



The v-band is gasketless. It does tend to leak initially, but eventually the two flanges warp together. If you take off the front pipe, put some grease inside the clamp. It will burn off, but it makes installation easier.

It's used to hold two pipes together without using flanges and bolts.
