Can someone explain the whole vband thing to me?
V-band is a type of flange/clamp that allows you to seal two pieces of metal together without a gasket. It makes taking off a downpipe a 5 minute job with a 2 minute smoke break. It takes me awhile to get my downpipe off now(6 bolts total before I broke off 2 of them ) With a v-band, you loosen the v-band clamp, pull the 2 bolts that hold it to the midpipe and your downpipe is off. My turbo has a v-band connecting the exhaust housing to the center cartridge....which means it takes me 5 to 10 minutes to take off my TURBO...it's a snap!

well I got a hold of one our sponsors, www.cheapturbo.com and they pointed me to this link: click here

Now we have a reference for V-band flanges/clamps!

also, their prices are really cheap for new turbos. I will be ordering my turbo from them in the future.
