Twins With A "t"
Well, I'm cruising along about 3 blocks from the shop, and the motor dies on me!?!!!! I was driving along at 3000 rpm just cruising(gotta break in the turbos). The only thing I could figure was that something fell out of the manifold or the turbos, and took out the motor. Boy was I wrong! It turns out that I had a leaking inner Oring, and since the car sat for 2 weeks with the motor open the corner seals on the front rotor rusted into the rotors. It started fine and idled fine, but as soon as I put load on it, one by one the corner seals wedged themselves deeper into the rotor and could not come back out. Soooo, I rebuilt the motor Saturday and slammed it in Sunday morning, and I'm up and driving again with a loss of $100 for an Oring kit. It sounds weird. I think it is because it is so much quiter. The exhaust pulses pinging off the manifold and down pipes are louder than the exhaust. Since It's so quiet, I can hear all the rattles and squeaks inside my car now(solid mounts all around). I contemplating replacing the silencer in my midpipe with straight pipe, just so I don't hear the rattles. I can't wait to get into some boost!!!! I'll give you guys an update when the turbos are broke in.
