Just out of curiosity what is good about the td06 25g turbo? I mean its popular in japan for drifting.besides being expensive to rebuild. There has to be some positive things about it.Is it reliable?well built?

Thanks.

Leetheslacker

The dyno sheet on cheepturbo.com is of my set up. Ran that turbo at the track for 6 months with over 125 passes. Did run the a/f 3-5% richer at the track so the rwhp was lower at 6400prm's. But I feel the motor did produce 400rwhp at the track at 7700rpm's. Stock 86 n/a motor with the 9.4 rotors. No porting on the intake side, just a little cleaning up on the exhaust ports. 2720lbs 1 st gen. 11.6 at 125mph with 1.8# 60 foot times on BFG drag radials. Home made Liquid/Air intercooler!!!!

In Japan it costs just as much to rebuild a Garret turbo (T4) as it does a Mitsubishi turbo (TD06). The Mitsu turbos handle higher boost better, last a little longer than the non ball bearing Garrets. Now that the GT series turbos are popular in Japan you see them alot more than Mitsu turbos. The TD06 25G is very similar to the TO4S in performance. Most of the drifters I see use used parts, and TD06's are pretty commonly found used.

TDO6 is same as T3 exhaust flange, unless it is the L2 housing then it is a triangle flange and the exhaust wheel has one less blade. It's been a couple of years, can't remember if it is divided or not.
