Greddy Td06-25g Vs Gt35/40 Turbo
#1
Hi was just researching on turbos..
GT35/40
15psi by 3400RPM
402RWHP @ 15psi on Mild Streetported 13BT (got info from 1320engineering)
i also know TD06 25g requires more boost to make 400hp..
i just wanted to know what are the spooling characteristics of the td06 25g?are they similar to the GT35/40?only reason i am comparing these 2 turbos is because lots of ppl from japan are using this turbo and are pushing 450ps at 1.1 bar...but at what rpm does it spool by 15 psi?
Thanks.

The dyno sheet on 1320 is a stock reman motor with no porting
Honestly, the greddy turbo is a nice setup, but as for the boost curves I'm not sure on the FD. The TD06 is a slightly smaller turbo, but what is the AR on the 25g? If you compare the ARs on the two turbos that should answer your question on which is more capable of the power you want. Do a general search on google.com to see if you can find the greddy turbo compressor maps. I'm sure Rotaryman88 will be on later, he can better explain it....

On an FC, you have more power potential with the GT35/40 Kit then the GReddy. With the dual ball bearing setup the GT35/40 uses and its higher AR, your boost will come on very quick. The GReddy bolt on kit is very nice as well for the FC, but it is what I call "the next step up" from stock besides modifying the stock turbo itself. You can reach 400HP with both setups, and yes 402WHP was correct at 15psi on a mild ported motor on pump fuel I might add. You can up the boost to 18psi and run higher octane and easily run over 430 to 460WHP. A nonpinned S5 motor can only lay down 500WHP reliably though, so more building would be needed to the motor for higher HP levels...
The TD06 does spool quick though, but it doesn't reach equivalent boost levels as quickly from what I've seen...it's about 200 to 300RPM slower at equal levels...but this was with the greddy wastegate and 2.5" exhaust, the GT35/40 kit we use has 3" exhaust and a turbosmart(switching to Tial soon) 45mm WG...so boost levels differ upon setups...

If your worried about a couple hundred RPMS, DONT! You are missing the point. Even if the GT35/40 is making 10 psi @ 3k rpms and the TD06 is making 11 or that one reaches boost before the other ect. It doesnt matter. The GT35/40 is pushing more air volume because its bigger than the TD06. It flows more volume at the same PSI because its bigger. Also the power potential with High boost and race fuel is much higher with the Garrett GT35/40. By the way the motor on the 404.2 hp 365ft lbs of torque GT3540 was NOT ported. It was a Stock Mazda Remanufactured motor. And the boost was cutting out above 15 psi as I had the warning set at 15.5 psi on the Blitz SBC-ID boost controller and didnt notice until i got home from the dyno. I felt cheated as it should have pulled even more power if I had the boost controller set up correctly. I have since pulled some 16.8 psi runs down the road and its Unreal. I would guess over 450hp to the wheels. if you even need more power than that on the street it must be because your Suicidal.
