I know this old scool rx-7 guru, says he has pettit j port with a greddy TD06. Also claims that the turbo isn't readlily available in the US. Just wondering if anyone has heard of it. He said it was the fastest spooling turbo greddy made and might also be called RCH06 or something.

On an unrelated note he says when he goes thru the gears @ WOT, his belts turn to dust. I hope he gets it going again soon...

vosko 12-25-2002 02:20 PM

greddy TD06 is popular.... its not a great turbo though. they have a TD-07 in japan. that is supposed to be pretty good!

rotarychainsaw 12-25-2002 02:23 PM

hmmm, who makes the tdo6? He haid he had a to4 and this one he has now tdo6? makes more power but runs out of breath at high speeds.

vosko 12-25-2002 02:25 PM

that sounds like a TD06 its a mitsubishi turbo

rotarychainsaw 12-25-2002 02:34 PM

I'll have to go slap him in the mouth. lol

Silver Ninety Three 12-25-2002 06:59 PM

I'm pretty sure greddy makes a TD06 kit. Its a small turbo, basically replacement for stock twins.

94touring 12-25-2002 07:23 PM

I thought greddy made the tdo6, a very small single turbo.

vosko 12-25-2002 07:34 PM

all of the greddy turbos are made by mitsubishi specifically for greddy

13BAce 12-25-2002 09:55 PM

The TD06 isn't bad. The lag would be almost non-existent compared to any of the big turbos, but you'd be limited to about 400 RWHP on the high side, probably more like 380-390.

little rotor 12-26-2002 12:24 AM

As already stated all greedy turbos are made by mitsubishi. From what I know they sell 3 kits for the FD.

TD06

T78 - A TDO7 exhaust half with TDO8 compressor

T88 - A full TD08

From what I read the only difference between buying the turbo from greedy instead of from mitsubishi is that the greedy compressor housing has a bellmouth intake in the casting. Of course you can still get different size housings and stuff but mitsubishi doesn't use A/R ratios like garrett. They use some other crap that I never bothered to learn about.

vosko 12-26-2002 12:25 AM

i'm completely happy with my T78 thus far :bigthumg:

You're welcome to be the guinea pig. If you can get it to spool I bet it will break those new axles.

You havn't seen it in person. I only brought the exhaust housing here. I left the rest in CA. The outlet is 5".

nothing a 200 shot of N20 can't fix https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/devil.gif

Dragon 12-26-2002 02:55 PM

The TD06 is really popular here in japan, but it's worthless on a 13B, it's a really good turbo for 1.6 - 2.2 liter piston engines... It is also made by Mitsubishi, so good luck finding overhaul parts for one..

Pretty much all of this was stated before by others.. Just wanted to back up what has alredy been said..

O' and your friend has power in 1st and 2nd gear... after that I'm sure it would get eaten by a to4e running the same boost... Ask him what size ex. housing it has? 19C, 20G, etc...

I'm not sure if it would fit on an FD. It may stick out too far.

It should clear the hood. It's the frame rail and shock tower that I'm worried about.

vosko 12-26-2002 03:35 PM

we don't need those

Here is my TD07. It has a 25G compressor and a divided 17cm exh housing. Does your T-78 have the same exh housing as my TD07? I don't think I've seen another turbo with this style exhaust housing.

setzep 12-26-2002 07:34 PM

Oh yeah https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png for the original question. When looking for a turbo I was also told the TD06 is too small of a turbo for a 13b. A guy at work knows people that have the same TD06 20g compressor on 2.0 mitsu engines.

Sounds like a plan :bigthumg: From what I gather the only difference is the compressor, your's being better https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

The T-78 is supposed to have a TD07 turbine and a TDO8 compressor. The T-88 is TDO8/TDO8.

1Revvin7 12-26-2002 11:39 PM

Why does that compressor housing have a huge square on it instead of the usual funnel>?

That's the exhaust housing. They just added it because the downpipe flange is the same shape.

1Revvin7 12-27-2002 12:02 PM

Wow, ahah, that is clean!
