T78 What To Expect
#12
Thanks for some of the constructive advice I guess I should have been clearer with my goals. First the car is not really a street car anymore, I will be drag racing it . Should be a mid 11’s high 10’s car when complete. I wouldn’t have put a T78 in a daily driver so a little lag never was on my mind. Funny so many people diss on large single turbo since they don’t spool up as quickly as the stockers. If I were using the car for auto cross or road racing I thing the GT35r would have been my first choice. But the stock turbo suck !
For the guy that said a broken tranny and rear end , well that’s up to the driver isn’t it ? If I go to the track and launch it at 7k , yeah I would expect to break a bunch of **** . Relax I have a diff brace and upgraded axels. My LSD won’t be on for a few months but I wouldn’t launch it hard till then …you know its common sense.

Supra pump= 290-300 LPH good for 400HP
Twin Walbros= 255x2 LPH (510) good for 700-800

Pretty sure the walbro flow drops off signifigantly as pressure increases compared to the supra pump. Pretty much all fuel pumps do this. So you really need to look at the dynamic flow rating very hard before deciding on pumps. which figure is more important on a boosted engine? 255 @ 40psi or 190@60psi ???

That would be me that says that CONSTANTLY... if you need power... downshift. Twin Sequential turbos made everyone lazy as ****.....
[quote name='vosko' date='May 10 2005, 11:15 AM']there is some saying about common sense not being common at all haha

I never said it wouldn't drop off. And most people will choose the 255 over 190.
