Yep, it's a known problem. Grinding the manifold and welding things up is a good idea. I bought my t78 kit a tad used and the downpipe was already dented although my 95 lim has no egr.

everyone knows that on the t78 kit , you have to cut the EGR plate off of the LIM to get clearance. Do a search and you'll probably find it.

on my brand new kit, i just had to dent my dp in order to make it fit...
