[attachment=38588:attachment][attachment=38589:attachment]I ordered a greddy t78 kit rotary performance rx7.com in garland texas and the problem that I'm having is that the when I went to install the downpipe to the turbo, the block off plate on the lower intake manifold where the old E.G.R valve was is sticking out too far and not letting me put the downpipe on the turbocharger hopefully the pics will help if anyone has any info please let me know

Take your manifold off and get it welded up or get one that hasnt got that there , egr is normally on the other side of manifold.

Or with a little heat you could add a dent in the problem area on your down pipe .

oh what is that block off for anyway I was told it was for the egr alos what exactly do you mean by having it welded up? are you saying to raise the flange that bolts to the turbo itself? I thought greddy test fitted its products before sending them out also and as far as putting a den into the downpipe wouldn't that create some serious issues with back pressure?

all you need to do is get a thinner plate and or smaller head screw and she should clear...

I don't think it is a good idea to have the downpipe that close to the intake manifold even if it is not touching. You could use a JDM manifold. I don't think they have the EGR assembly.

greddy based the kit on the japanese manifold.

making a dent on the downpipe is the easiest way to go... treceb has that done to his downpipe.

Well guys, I got ahold of Chris Ott at Rotary Performance and he explained that in japan they don't have an egr system on the motor, as was explained earlier in this topic by someone else. Thanks for the pics by the way. he normally machines of the extension from the lower intake manifold and welds a plate and grinds of unessecary welds. I hope that this helps anyone else who runs into this problem and thanx for all the support guys.
