I'm finally to the point where I can start finalizing everything for my turbo purchase. For those of you who don't know, I'm putting a 13b Cosmo in my FB. I've read over a lot of the terminology to figure out exactly what "V-Band" meant, and it's kinda scaring me. It sounds really complicated and expensive, but the T04R size I want from Cheapturbo only comes in tangential style-housings (dunno if that's the right way to say that) therefore requiring a v-band discharge, I believe.

Needless to say, I have ZERO experience with turbochargers, I just jumped right in with this project. So, here's my question:

What all do I need for this setup? I would really like to get a 1.00 or 1.15 a/r because I've heard such good things about that size with my (stock port) motor, especially from CP Racing, but Cheapturbo doesn't list either of those sizes. I haven't spoken with them yet, but I'm just brainstorming and wanted to see what you guys think. I'm also questioning the compressor wheel size, I assumed 80mm was the "normal" size for a T04R, but they have 66.5mm listed.

Well sorry for the novel and thanks for any advice!

P.S. I'm using a large NPR intercooler and I plan to design the exhaust manifold, any advice on planning this construction would be great as well.

Cheap turbo carries the .96 A/R turbine which isn't far off from the 1.00 I do believe that they can get you the 1.15 A/R as well if that is the one you want. But I believe that you would be spooling up pretty late on stock ports with the 1.15 A/R. Just my .02 though.

I thought so too, but the guys at CP Racing (they have a handful of Cosmo FBs) say they get full boost at 3000rpm on stock ports.

.84 will be PLENTY for a stock motor------unless you are a full blown drag racer.

I can't see how they can get full boost by 3K with a 1.15 A/R unless they're spraying insane amounts of nitrous.

I guess it depends on a lot of factors, header design, what "full boost is", timing, nos...ect.

I'd go with a 1.0 divided with a fully divided manifold.

I got a patent on it. You'll have to pay me to use the design
